Description

Triunfo Sanitation District is governed by a five-member Board of Directors, each elected to a four-year term. District elections are held every two years in November on even-numbered years. Terms are staggered, with two terms expiring in one even-numbered year, and three terms expiring the following even-numbered year. Candidates for the Board must be registered voters and reside within the boundaries of the Triunfo Sanitation District. Sanitary Districts are managed by local citizens elected to serve on governing boards. The boards are responsible for the use of public funds put toward the construction and maintenance of drainage, sewage, or sanitary systems for the District. The boards may also be responsible for passing rate proposals and developing other monetary policies related to the district's sewers and other pieces of drainage infrastructure.

Application Guidelines
To file for this position follow these three simple steps: 1) Contact the Ventura County Elections Division office at (805) 654-2664 to verify that your address qualifies for the position and that you meet any other candidacy requirements (for example, living within the district for a specified amount of time prior to the election). 2) Obtain the correct filing papers from the county elections office. They may also be available at the City Clerk’s office.
